Overview
GrabText, developed by ORBIT AI LABS, is committed to protecting your privacy. This extension operates entirely on your device with zero data collection. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information or usage data.
No Data Collection
GrabText does not collect any data about you or your usage of the extension. This includes:
• No screenshots are uploaded or stored on any server
• No text you extract is transmitted anywhere
• No browsing history is tracked
• No analytics or telemetry of any kind
• No cookies or tracking pixels
• No user accounts or registration required
How GrabText Works
All OCR (Optical Character Recognition) processing happens entirely on your device using Tesseract.js, an open-source library that runs in your browser. Your screenshots never leave your computer.
Local Storage Only
GrabText stores your recent text extractions locally in Chrome's local storage on your own device. This data:
• Never leaves your device
• Is not accessible to us or any third party
• Can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the extension
• Is stored only for your convenience (viewing history)
No Third-Party Services
GrabText does not use any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or external services. The extension is completely self-contained and offline-capable.
Permissions Explained
GrabText requests the following Chrome permissions:
• activeTab: Allows the extension to capture screenshots of the current tab when you activate it
• storage: Stores your recent extractions locally on your device
• clipboardWrite: Copies extracted text to your clipboard
These permissions are used solely for the core functionality of the extension and nothing else.
Open Source Technology
GrabText uses open-source OCR technology (Tesseract.js). The extension's code does not contain any tracking, analytics, or data collection mechanisms.
Children's Privacy
GrabText does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data at all, the extension is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
If we make any changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of GrabText after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
